This launch has been marked with a high-level hybrid event organized at the Hassan II International Center for Environmental Training. This event witnessed the participation of the High-Level Champion Nigel Topping, the Unit Lead of ACE/Gender/ Youth at UNFCCC Fleur Newman, the YOUNGO Global South Focal Point Heeta Lakhani, the Co-Founder of International Climate Change Development Initiative Olumide Idowu and the ambassadors of the Hub, Hatim El Otmani, Delphin Kaze and Joanita Babirye.
A thorough youth-led evaluation process
While the call for projects was ongoing, work has been focused on elaborating the evaluation process of the projects submitted. While keeping in mind the importance of having youth engaged in the process since the beginning, an evaluation process of four steps has been set.
The first step consists of an automatic screening of the projects submitted to filter the incomplete submissions. Out of 223 submissions received, 218 were complete submissions.
The second step consists of an evaluation from a group constituted by youth (50% Ambassadors of AYCH and 50 % representatives of YOUNGO). This group proceeded to the selection of 50 initiatives.
The third step consists of an evaluation from a group composed of experts selected through the founding partners of the initiative.
The fourth step consists of an evaluation from the Strategic Committee composed of the founding partners of the initiative.
This Committee will deliberate to select the final 10 initiatives that will be incubated.
