The concept of The African
youth climate hub.
An initiative to respond to and amplify the voices and action of Youth, starting with African Youth.
This is an initiative for youth and by youth that aims to be a positive space for exchange and concrete support for young Africans both in terms of skills and knowledge and in terms of entrepreneurship and job opportunities.
It is also designed as a replicable initiative with the built-in, long-term vision of prototyping other regional Youth Climate Hubs, possibly paving the way for a UN-led Global Youth Climate Hub, capitalizing on initial feedbacks and lessons learnt.
The African Youth Climate Hub is fully based around palpable best-practices and best projects from the field, all involving young people, with a specific focus on the Global South.
Our overall ambition is to reach a new scale in global efforts towards Youth mobilization and Youth empowerment
to accelerate Action and enable Ambition for the concrete implementation of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as sell as the synergies between the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063. It has also a deep vocation of contributing to the NDC’s in order to promote government’s engagements
Best practices and best projects will be sourced directly from the field and will all have a concrete and local impact.
All best practices and projects registered by the Hub will have to deal very concretely with one or several dimensions of climate change adaptation/mitigation challenges.

Thematic criteria
The African Youth Climate Hub establishes a new, much-needed pace of information and experience sharing to consolidate the voices of the youth mobilized against climate change at local, national and international scales and provide support to these voices, including financially, to foster African Youth innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Hub will educate young people to create sustainable change in their schools, communities and professional ecosystems, at all relevant scales.
The African Youth Climate Hub offers the opportunity for the African Youth to establish and maintain a generation-wide movement to address climate change. It will enable the Youth to more clearly identify and connect with the different groups and organizations that need to listen to their thoughts and build on their insights and best practices to amplify action.
The African Youth Climate Hub is based on two main axes to Support an Empowered, Included and Equal Youth, a digital structure, and a physical structure
