The Fight for Refrigeration and Safe Drinking Water in Sub-Saharan Africa

In Sub-Saharan Africa, 74% of households lack access to a refrigerator, highlighting significant barriers to food preservation and safety. Additionally, 36% of the population does not have access to safe drinking water, underscoring the urgent need for solutions to improve living conditions and public health in the region.

The Innovative Solar-Powered Refrigerator and Water Filter Solution

Socool is an affordable, double-design appliance that combines a solar-powered refrigerator with an embedded water filter, crafted locally from clay and modern cooling technology. Harnessing the abundant solar energy in the region, Socool provides a sustainable alternative that eliminates dependence on the electricity grid while promoting environmental friendliness.
