CongoFoodPlus
Our mission is to alleviate poverty among DRC farmers by providing sustainable economic alternatives and training
In the DRC, farmers in armed groups earn $100 monthly, while artisanal miners make about $8 daily, and small-scale farmers earn just $1.60. This drives many to abandon agriculture for mining or armed groups. The P-DDRCS has identified 266 active groups, with over 40,000 children of farmers working in artisanal mining.
Transforming Agriculture through Education
Since 2020, Congo Food Plus (AgriGore) has been conducting “Farmer Field Schools” to educate small-scale farmers about effective and innovative agricultural techniques. These schools aim to connect farmers to markets, enabling them to adapt to climate change, restore and maintain soil fertility, improve their incomes, and minimize losses.
