ADENIKE OLADOSU

Adenike has an academic background in agricultural economy and extension (Hons). She is a Nigerian climate justice activist who advocates for vulnerable communities and marginalized people that are faced with climate crises in order to make their voices heard. In her quest to seek for a solution to the climate change crisis, she works with indigenous people. She is an awardee (ambassador of conscience) and an SDG advocate who communicates sustainability ways to people for the development of nations

Aminatou Bilal

Graduate of the Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech in Geosciences.Treasurer of the Mauritanian Students Association in Marrakech from 2010 to 2011. Organizing member of the Wikistage Nouakchott in August 2014, event bringing together more than 500 participants at the convention center. Member of the G5 Sahel Youth Network attending the meeting with the High Representative of the European Union Ms Federica Mogherini and the Foreign Ministers of the G5 Sahel countries in Bamako (Mali) in June 2017. Independent consultant, ambassador of the African Youth Leaders Summit (AYLS) in Mauritania. Aminetou is passionate about environmental issues, selected in October 2015 to participate in the training workshop on climate change organized by the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) in Libreville.

Chiagozie Udeh

Chiagozie is a Nigerian expert on global climate policy and African politics, focusing on renewable energy, loss and damage and climate finance thematics. Chiagozie is the Secretary of the Global Executive Board and a Programme Coordinator in Nigeria for Plant-for-the-Planet. Through the Trillion Trees campaign, Chiagozie explores ways to get Member States and private sector organizations to set ambitious afforestation targets to reduce carbon emissions by 25% in 2030. He was the 2017 Regional Focal Point for the Oceans working group of the UN Major Group for Children and Youth. In the African Union’s ECOSOC Committee he is the Coordinator of the Energy thematic group. Contributing to Africa’s clean energy revolution with his multinational solar energy start-up AFROwatt Express, he aims to sustainably electrify rural communities. Chiagozie’s latest work highlights Nigeria’s current security challenges owing to desertification, drought and other effects of climate change; one of his policy briefs won the Cambridge Climate Lecture Series 2018 and was published by the Ecologist. His next focus is on helping African countries to build proactive disaster risk reduction structures. Chiagozie was elected in December 2018 the Global South Focal Point of YOUNGO, the Youth Constituency to the UNFCCC where he facilitates global youth engagement in the international climate change processes primarily within the UNFCCC and other spaces within and outside the United Nations. He is 8 months into his mandate in a climate-busy year where a lot of processes are feeding into the Climate Action Summit of the Secretary General.

Astou sene

Astou is currently a Program Officer in the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Mohammed VI Polyethnic University. Obtaining her Master’s in Global Affairs at New York University, Astou specialized in two concentration: Energy and Environmental policies & Global Economy. Prior to this degree, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at York University. She held internships in non-profit environmental organization supported by the United Nations as well as in private companies. Astou is passionate about researching on environmental issues such as sustainable energy and non-renewables energy waste management. She is passionate about creative business solutions with meaningful impact to resolve climate change challenges.

Joanita Babirye

Joanita is the co-founder and Programs Director at Girls For climate, a youth Led organization that is putting girls at the forefront of climate action because of their vulnerability to the impacts of climate change, under this, she has led environmental awareness in schools and communities, created a climate demonstration hub to prototype solutions to the climate crisis. She is also the state for Water, Natural Resources and Environment in Butembe (Jinja) Chiefdom in Busoga Kingdom hence the first young person to take up this elite position. In the past, Joanita has led the writing of petitions to bring the government to attention for example the petition to the office of the prime minister on receding of lake Wamara that attracted attention and action from the Ugandan government, impactful awareness campaigns like” the Birthday Tree”, “fossil free Uganda” and involving communities, local governments, private sectors to rise for climate. She has represented the country as the 16th and 17th Tunza Eco-generation Ambassador to create environmental awareness among children and youths. Further still she presented a policy paper on the need to include women in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) processes during the high level 14th conference of youths in Katowice, Poland.

Manal Bidar

High School Student. Founder of 2 Environmental Clubs/NGOs "Amis de la Terre" and "SOS Planet Agadir" Organising her first strike for climate in 2016, the young climate activist advertised her clubs' activities in local radios and social platforms. With more than 60 participants in the Strike for climate, she had succeeded in raising awareness among youth of her city Agadir. In 2018/2019, she won the best delegate award in 2 international MUNs (Model of United Nations), SIMUN and AGAMUN. Having to deal with the Nuclear Weapons Treat (Security Council) and The Migration Crisis (UNHRC), she wrote 2 resolutions able to solve both of the crises. In February 2019, she was able to meet with a renowned Circular Economy expert for the Souss Massa region. After elaborating on that unique opportunity in her article about "Sustainable Agriculture", she was chosen to represent the Mohamed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and her country in the Women's Forum for society and Climate in Kyoto, Japan.

Delphin Kaze

Delphin is a young social entrepreneur, passionate with the environment. Studying environmental sciences at Université Polytechnique de Gitega strengthened his passion for environmental protection and created a great inspiration to take action. He is the founder and CEO of KAZE Green Economy (KAGE) Ltd, a social enterprise that provides eco-friendly charcoal from organic households waste and agricultural residues especially corn cobs. Delphin is a young social entrepreneur, passionate with the environment. Studying environmental sciences at Université Polytechnique de Gitega strengthened his passion for environmental protection and created a great inspiration to take action. He is the founder and CEO of KAZE Green Economy (KAGE) Ltd, a social enterprise that provides eco-friendly charcoal from organic households waste and agricultural residues especially corn cobs. Besides, he is a co-founder and Representative of “My Imperative Actions”, an environmental youth-led organization that empowers people to use all their talents and skills in solving current environmental problems which our communities are facing. He is pleased to contribute to saving forests, waste management, addressing climate change and importantly joining other global change makers in working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals as well as the Parris Agreement Goals through a green economy promotion by innovating eco-friendly products.

Hatim El Otmani

Hatim El Otmani has a master’s degree in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development from the Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco. He is passionate about sustainable development, youth and Agenda 2063. He is currently working as project manager for the National Erasmus+ Offices in Morocco and remains strongly involved in community life and civil society programmes as president and founder of Atlas For Development.He has worked for a variety of NGOs and institutions including the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the official youth constituency (YOUNGO) at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). El Otmani co-founded Youth SDG Action Morocco during his tenure as national coordinator of MyWorld 2030. Having collected surveys from more than 16,000 citizens, in 2018 they won the UN SDG Action CAMPAIGN Award in the mobilisation category. Believing that education is the ultimate component to stimulate sustainable development, El Otmani has volunteered in rural communities to teach women how to read and write. Maria Auma is the founder of BLI Global a not for profit organization focusing on fundraising and project implementation in sub-Saharan Africa and southern Asia. Under BLI she collaborated with IUCN’s Commission on Education and Communication, and UN Environment on the world environment day campaign to beat plastic pollution. She also mobilized over 20,000 postcards under the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation’s 100,000 climate postcards campaign. These experiences propelled her to participate in YOUNGO led interventions at the UNFCCC summit in Katowice, Poland, advocating for youth and gender inclusion in the Paris Agreement Work Program. She provided support to YOUNGO’s finance working group, assisting with drafting policy position statements that were published in YOUNGO’s position paper, and presented at media press conferences in a bid to call for a just and equitable outcome in the Paris Agreement Work Program. On joining the YOUNGO Bottom Lining Team, she has helped facilitate the Youth Climate Summit that took place during the High Level Meeting in New York on March 28th,2019 as well as co-organizing together with other UN agencies the SDG 13 Break Out session that happened during the ECOSOC Youth Forum in April from 8th-9th 2019. During the Africa Climate Week she assisted in coordination of events with lead from the YOUNGO focal point and helped set up a bilateral with the EU delegation as well as co-moderated a session on financing the NDCs that was attended by Ambassador de Alba and the Green Climate Fund Director of the Country Programming Division. She has also established the Global Ambassador Program (GAP) empowering young people to become positive change makers. Recently she co-founded BLI Global Capital a privately held fund working to raise impact investments for economic development.

Elizabeth Gulugulu

Elizabeth Gulugulu is a strong advocate for indigenous solutions to indigenous environmental problems. She is an Msc candidate in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture who volunteers for African Youth Initiative on Climate Change in Zimbabwe (AYICCZim) and gained much experience working with Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network (CSAYN) as an Outreach and Publicity team leader. She is highly experienced in youth mobilization for Climate Smart Agriculture activism and research in sustainable agricultural solutions. Elizabeth Gulugulu was a participant SADC selected 20 young people training in Aquaculture a training program in Malawi which took place from the 23-27 of September 2018 at the 6th PAFFA Conference. She was also nominated to be a speaker at the 4th Global Science Conference in Climate Smart Agriculture that was held in South Africa November 2017. She also participated at COP 23 in Bonn German 2018 as a speaker and a rapporteur in some side event she participated in. Elizabeth Gulugulu has an interest in sustainable farming, building resilient communities, Climate action, youth empowerment and women empowerment through advocating for sustainable projects and renewable energy use.
